From Mark W. on Tuesday, March 2:
Hi,
I purchased some of your snake skin tolex and used it as a drum covering. It looked so good I ordered more for my other drums! Much cheaper to use than regular drum wrap and looks great! Check out the pictures I attached.
Thanks for a great product.

Amazing job!
(Alligator would also look sweet I’m thinking.)
Check out Mojo’s full selection of tolex and you might be inspired to DIY, too.
Customize.
Mojo Musical Supply now offers custom faceplates. Put your name or logo on any of our stock faceplates (18W, JTM45, etc.) or any color PLEXI material we offer. Choose any True Type font you want!
We have 4 material options to choose from:
- Gold Reverse-engrave Plexi
- Black Reverse-engrave Plexi
- Grey Reverse-engrave Plexi
- Black Front-engrave (reveals white) Acrylic

Changes can be made to any of our stock options (within reason). This includes hole sizes, hole placement, perimeter dimensions, etc.
Any customers wishing to have a fully custom faceplate and/or backplate must furnish a DWG or DXF file. Setup fees will vary depending on how well-developed and “clean” the file work is (i.e. modifications may be necessary to get a properly formatted cut).
A quote will be provided based upon the amount of text being engraved as well as the size of the panel and the amount of material required. Engraving can be done on any color material with any color back-fill. Front-engrave material will be more costly.
Customers will receive a PDF PROOF of the faceplate/backplate/set which will become the working proof agreed upon via email. Mojo Musical Supply will not be held accountable for non-approved work outside the scope of the approved proof agreed upon.
If you cannot provide a digital representation (DWG, DXF) of the desired faceplate/backplate/set, we will allow hand drawn drafts with FULL dimensional information. This would include distance between cutouts, size of cutouts, text in relation to cutouts, cutout distance from outer edges, etc. This is the most expensive option.
Email to Get a Quote

*Some fonts are harder to work with than others and may require additional setup time, which will increase the cost of setup fees. You also have the choice of front-engrave material, which will increase the cost of setup fees. Fonts must be provided in True Type files for any fonts we do not already have on file.
If you’ve ever thought about buying a custom cabinet but wanted more than a mental picture of what you had in mind before taking the plunge, then Mojo’s new Cabinet Configurator tool will be a huge help!

Here’s a few videos we ran across showcasing Mojo’s Custom Wound Classic Pickups. Check them out!
More A minor noodling featuring my R8 Les Paul, Reinhardt MI-6, and my newly installed Mojo Custom Wound Classic PAFs. I stack an Eternity and a Barber LTD SR occasionally. These are by far the the sweetest, most articulate, and most balanced humbuckers I have tried. They actually sound the way Mojotone describes them. They are a blast to play and all three positions sound great. I am using a Line 6 Echo Park delay set to tape echo and a Barber LTD SR overdrive pedal and Lovepedal Eternity stacked occasionally.
If you have a little (…errr, or a massive amount of) Christmas cash tucked away or if you’ve been saving your pennies for a while – let’s say 15-20 years – then the result of the 2nd collaboration between Gibson and Jimmy Page might be enough to make your mouth water.
THE OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Presser–Gibson Custom announces the Gibson Custom Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul Limited Edition guitar modified by the legendary Jimmy Page himself.
Every musician knows that a late ’50s Sunburst Les Paul Standard is hard enough to come by. Obtaining a pristine and exemplary ‘59 ‘Burst and modifying it for heightened performance and vastly expanded tonal options? Unheard of…unless, of course, you’re Jimmy Page.
That’s exactly what the iconic Led Zeppelin guitarist, perhaps the world’s best-known Les Paul player, did with his own ‘59 Les Paul Standard, and now – thanks to the extreme efforts of Gibson’s Custom Shop and the intimate cooperation of Jimmy Page himself – the artist’s hallowed “Number Two” Les Paul is available in the form of the Custom Shop Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul.
Produced in strictly limited numbers, with two levels of aging, this guitar captures the look, feel, sound, and versatility of one of the greatest artist-owned Les Pauls of all time.
The 1959 Les Paul that has come to be known as “Number Two” was purchased by Page in 1973 after trying for some time to acquire an exceptional second Les Paul. This was several years after having acquired his other legendary Les Paul – “Number One,” a ‘59 ‘Burst with a shaved-down neck profile and no serial number – from Joe Walsh. “Number Two” was essentially all original when he acquired it. Jimmy did have some modifications done to the neck shape so that it would more nearly match the feel of his “Number One.”
